Overview

This Level 5 Award in Understanding Digital Leadership in Adult Social Care is designed for leaders and managers working within the adult social care sector who want to develop their understanding of digital transformation, technology and data-driven practice.

This knowledge-based qualification explores how technology can be used to improve care delivery, organisational performance and outcomes for people who draw on care and support. Learners will develop an understanding of digital leadership, technology implementation, data governance, legal responsibilities relating to data, stakeholder engagement and leading change within adult social care settings.

Ideal for registered managers, senior practitioners and operational leaders, the qualification supports those responsible for introducing new technology, driving service improvement and developing digitally confident care teams.

Requirements

This qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence and is designed to enable learners to apply their knowledge to real-world adult social care scenarios.

Duration

The qualification consists of 12 credits and includes 100 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 120 hours. Learners study at their own pace with support from a dedicated assessor.

Accreditation

Our Diplomas are accredited by Ofqual-approved registered bodies such as Highfield Qualifications and ILM (part of City & Guilds) to give you quality assurance.

Assessment

The Highfield Level 5 Award in Understanding Digital Leadership in Adult Social Care is completed via an e-portfolio. Learners are assigned a dedicated assessor who provides support and guidance throughout the qualification.

The e-portfolio is used to submit evidence demonstrating the learner's knowledge and understanding of the qualification content. Assessment methods may include written assignments, professional discussions, presentations, reflective accounts, research activities and question-and-answer tasks.

As this is a knowledge-based qualification, learners are assessed on their understanding of digital leadership, technology implementation, data governance and service improvement within adult social care. There is no requirement to demonstrate occupational competence.

This qualification (610/5276/0) is listed as an eligible qualification under the Adult Social Care Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS).

Eligible adult social care employers may be able to claim up to £1,000 towards the cost of this qualification, subject to meeting the scheme's eligibility requirements.

To claim funding, employers must have an up-to-date Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) account and submit a claim through the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) within the required timeframe.

Diploma FAQs

What is the difference between an NVQ, a QCF and an RQF?

All three are abbreviations of the same qualification. While the term 'NVQ' may still be the most popular, this was superseded by 'QCF' in 2010 and then changed to 'RQF' in 2015.
