Overview

The Level 5 Diploma for Early Years Senior Practitioners is designed for experienced early years professionals who are ready to grow in their senior, deputy, or management roles. It develops leadership, teaching, and practice management skills required for driving high-quality service and delivering the best, appropriate outcomes for children and families.

Recognised as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) by IfATE and meeting the DfE Early Years Educator (EYE) criteria, this vocational training is ideal for senior team members with responsibilities including implementing/updating policies, assessments & risk assessments, leading a team and delegating tasks, supporting new staff, working with other agencies and parents/carers.

The enrolment fee for this qualification is £1,995.

Requirements

As an observation takes place in the workplace, delegates must be employed in a relevant vocational setting to enrol on our diplomas.

Duration

Most of our qualifications have a maximum duration of 24 months. Students are encouraged to learn at their own pace, and many will complete sooner.

Accreditation

Our diplomas are accredited by Ofqual-approved registered bodies such as Highfield Qualifications, ILM (part of City & Guilds), and NCFE/CACHE to give you quality assurance.

Assessment

Diplomas are completed via e-portfolio. All students will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will be on hand to provide virtual support. The assessor team is there to help students work to the best of their ability and complete their diploma in good time.

The e-portfolio is a collection of evidence submitted via an online portal. This evidence comprises a range of documents, from peer statements, presentations of evidence and a series of Q&A sessions.

Evidence is collected via experience gained in the delegate’s workplace whilst they perform their usual working role and will cover a series of competence and knowledge-based units.

For this qualification, a minimum of 300 hours in a real work environment is required, and learners must complete 18 mandatory units (121 credits).

Diploma FAQs

What is the difference between an NVQ, a QCF and an RQF?

'NVQ', 'QCF' and 'RQF' are simply different abbreviations used at different times. An NVQ is an older term that many people still recognise. It was later replaced by the QCF, before changing to the RQF, which is the current and most up‑to‑date terminology.

What support will be available during this course?

All learners completing one of our vocational courses will be assigned their own course assessor, providing direct and personal support. Additionally, we have a dedicated in-house diploma team available 24/7 via phone or email.

How much does it cost to enrol?

Our diplomas are self-funded and priced competitively. For our most up-to-date pricing structure, please speak with our advisors.

Discounts are available for orders in bulk.
